The more you love your clothes, the more you take care of them. Here are some tips for extending their lifespan and pampering them as best you can.

-
Follow the care instructions on the garment: The temperature indicated on the garment's label is the one not to exceed. Washing at a low temperature extends the life of your clothes, reducing the risk of fiber wear, discoloration, and shrinkage.
-
Reduce the number of times you wash your clothes to limit your carbon footprint and the spread of microplastics. Synthetic materials (polyester, acrylic, etc.) release microplastics into the environment. Every year, nearly half a million tons of microplastics are released into the ocean—the equivalent of more than 50 billion plastic bottles. They are ingested by species and then by us.
To reduce this proliferation of microplastics, you can place your clothes in a guppyfriend which will capture the particles emitted when washing synthetic clothes.
-
Sort by color: Separate your clothes by color before washing to avoid fading.
-
Avoid snags: Before washing your clothes, fasten zippers, button buttons, and turn clothes inside out.
-
Avoid harsh chemicals: Limit the use of harsh chemicals like bleach, which can damage fabric fibers. Opt for mild detergents.
-
Air dry: Hang your clothes to air dry when possible and avoid using the dryer.
-
Repair quickly: Repair any snags, missing buttons, holes directly to prevent the problem from getting worse.
- Choose appropriate storage: Use suitable hangers for each type of clothing to prevent them from becoming deformed.
